Library

Desh Bhagat Yaadgar maintains a Library with extensive holdings of the Ghadar party materials along with selected literature on revolutionary movements of Punjab, India and worldwide. The Library has acquired special collections of manuscripts on the Ghadar movement. As the Memorial building became a natural habitat for many old Ghadarites in the 1950s and 1960s, several kinds of documents found its way into the library.

Among its specialist collections are several handwritten manuscripts and recorded interviews with Ghadar activists. A partial list of library's special and manuscripts relating to the Ghadar Party is given in N. K. Joshi, `Bibliography of archival material, reference and research documents in the Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Library [Jalandhar: History Sub-Committee, Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Committee, 1995]. Of its many valuable holdings are almost complete files of Kirti, Desh Bhagat Yadan, Proceedings of Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Committee, including some facsimiles of Ghadar dian Goojan.

The Library is open to visitors from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 4PM. Please arrange in advance if you wish to consult any of special collection material held by the library.
